These Creator Monetization Terms ("Monetization Terms") govern your participation in LekkaClips's creator monetization programs. They form part of our Terms and Conditions and must be read together with our Community Guidelines, Privacy Policy, and Refund and Cancellation Policy.
By applying for or participating in any monetization features on LekkaClips, you agree to these Monetization Terms.
1. Eligibility
To be eligible for monetization, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction)
- Have a LekkaClips account in good standing
- Comply with our Terms and Conditions, Community Guidelines, and all applicable laws
- Meet the minimum thresholds set by LekkaClips (e.g., follower count, video views, engagement metrics)
- Reside in a country where monetization is available (currently South Africa and selected regions)
LekkaClips reserves the right to approve or reject any creator's application at its sole discretion.
2. Monetization Features
We may offer the following monetization opportunities (subject to availability and eligibility):
- Video Ads Revenue Share — Earn a share of advertising revenue from ads shown on your videos
- Virtual Gifts & Coins — Receive gifts from fans during lives or videos, convertible to real money
- Creator Fund / Bonuses — Performance-based bonuses for high-quality, original content
- Subscriptions / Fan Clubs — Monthly fan subscriptions (where available)
- Brand Partnerships & Sponsored Content — Opportunities to work with brands (must be disclosed)
- Other features we may introduce in the future
3. Revenue Share and Payouts
Revenue share rates will be clearly displayed in the Creator Dashboard and may vary by feature and region.
Current default rates (subject to change):
- Ads: Up to 50% of net ad revenue attributable to your content
- Gifts: 70% of the value of gifts received (after platform fees)
We reserve the right to change rates with notice.
Payout Threshold & Schedule:
- You must reach a minimum balance (e.g., ZAR 50 or equivalent) before requesting a payout.
- Payouts are processed monthly via supported methods (bank transfer, or other local options).
- You are responsible for providing accurate payout information.
4. Taxes and Withholding
- You are solely responsible for all taxes, duties, and levies on earnings received from LekkaClips.
- We may withhold taxes as required by South African law (SARS) or the laws of your country of residence.
- You agree to provide tax information (e.g., tax number, VAT registration if applicable) when requested.
5. Content Requirements for Monetization
Monetized content must:
- Be original and created by you
- Comply fully with our Community Guidelines
- Not contain prohibited material (hate speech, violence, adult content, misinformation, etc.)
- Properly disclose sponsored or branded content using #Ad, #Sponsored, or #BrandPartner
We may demonetize individual videos or your entire account if content violates these standards.
6. Prohibited Practices
You may not:
- Engage in artificial engagement (buying views, likes, followers, or using bots)
- Misrepresent your audience or content performance
- Upload repurposed or non-original content primarily for monetization
- Encourage fans to send gifts or spend money in exchange for non-platform benefits
- Violate any laws or platform policies
Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension of monetization, forfeiture of earnings, or permanent account ban.
7. Intellectual Property & License
By participating in monetization, you grant LekkaClips the same content license described in our Terms and Conditions. We may use your content for promotional purposes related to the monetization program.
8. Payment Processing and Disputes
- All payments are processed through third-party providers. We are not responsible for delays caused by payment processors or banks.
- You must report any payout discrepancies within 30 days of receipt.
- Refunds to fans or chargebacks may result in deduction from your balance.
9. Suspension and Termination
LekkaClips may suspend or terminate your access to monetization features at any time if:
- You violate these Monetization Terms, Community Guidelines, or general Terms
- There is suspected fraudulent activity
- You fall below eligibility thresholds
Upon termination, you may forfeit any unpaid earnings below the payout threshold or earned through prohibited means.
10. Changes to Monetization Terms
We may update these Monetization Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notification. Your continued participation after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. No Guarantee of Earnings
Participation in monetization does not guarantee any minimum earnings. Earnings depend on many factors including content quality, audience engagement, and platform performance.
12. Governing Law
These Monetization Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Pretoria.
