Community Guidelines

At LekkaClips, we want to create a fun, vibrant, and safe space for South Africans and people around the world to express themselves through short videos. These Community Guidelines outline what is allowed and not allowed on our platform. They work together with our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

By using LekkaClips, you agree to follow these guidelines. We may update them from time to time — please check back regularly.

1. Our Values

We believe in:

  • Creativity and self-expression
  • Respect and kindness
  • Authenticity
  • Safety and inclusivity
  • Fun and entertainment

We encourage content that is positive, entertaining, educational, or culturally enriching.

2. Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use LekkaClips. Users under 18 should have parental or guardian supervision.

3. Allowed & Encouraged Content

We welcome:

  • Original videos showcasing your talent, daily life, humor, dance, music, cooking, education, sports, and culture
  • Creative editing and effects
  • Positive challenges and trends
  • Constructive comments and discussions
  • Content that celebrates South African diversity and global cultures

4. Prohibited Content and Behavior

You may not post, upload, share, or engage in any of the following:

Illegal or Harmful Activities

  • Content that violates any South African or applicable international laws
  • Promotion of violence, terrorism, or criminal activity
  • Drug abuse, substance abuse, or illegal activities

Hate Speech & Discrimination

  • Content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
  • Hate speech, slurs, or derogatory language

Harassment & Bullying

  • Bullying, trolling, or targeted harassment of individuals
  • Sharing private information without consent (doxxing)
  • Stalking or unwanted sexual advances

Sexual & Adult Content

  • Pornography, explicit nudity, or sexually explicit content
  • Sexual solicitation or grooming
  • Content that sexualizes minors (strictly prohibited)

Dangerous or Harmful Challenges

  • Challenges that could cause physical harm, self-harm, or encourage dangerous behavior
  • Promotion of eating disorders, suicide, or self-injury

Misinformation & Deception

  • Deliberate spread of proven false information that could cause public harm (especially health or safety-related)
  • Impersonation of others or spreading fake news with malicious intent

Spam & Platform Abuse

  • Excessive posting of repetitive content or spam
  • Artificial engagement (buying likes, followers, or using bots)
  • Manipulation of the algorithm or platform features

Intellectual Property Violations

  • Copyrighted material (music, videos, images) without proper authorization
  • Trademark infringement
  • Plagiarized content presented as your own

Graphic or Shocking Content

  • Extreme violence, gore, or disturbing imagery
  • Animal cruelty

5. Safety & Moderation

We use a combination of technology and human review to enforce these guidelines. All content is subject to review.

Consequences for Violations may include:

  • Warning
  • Removal of individual videos or comments
  • Temporary suspension of features (e.g., live streaming, comments)
  • Account suspension
  • Permanent account ban

Repeated or serious violations will result in stricter action.

6. Reporting Violations

If you see content that violates these guidelines:

  1. Tap the Report button on the video, comment, or profile
  2. Select the reason for reporting
  3. Submit the report

We review all reports seriously and aim to respond as quickly as possible.

7. Appeals Process

If you believe your content or account was removed in error, you can appeal the decision through the in-app notification or by contacting us at lekkaclips@gmail.com.

8. Additional Rules

  • Live Streaming: Additional safety rules apply. You must not broadcast prohibited content.
  • Commercial Content: Advertising, sponsorships, and brand deals must be clearly disclosed using #Ad or #Sponsored.
  • Music Usage: Only use music available in our licensed music library or music you have full rights to use.
  • Child Safety: Content involving children must be appropriate and posted with parental consent.

9. Enforcement & Changes

We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts at our sole discretion, even if not explicitly listed here. These guidelines do not create any private right of action or legal claim against LekkaClips. We may update these Community Guidelines as needed. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the new guidelines.
